AN ANALYSIS OF LEADERSHIP STYLE AT BEM FKIP UNJA FOR THE 2023/2024 PERIOD
Abstract
This research analyzes the leadership styles employed by the Chairman of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Jambi University during the 2023/2024 period, as well as their impacts on BEM management members. Data were collected through interviews with the BEM Chairman and three BEM members. The findings indicate that the frequently utilized leadership styles are participative and motivational. The participative style encourages active involvement of members in decision-making and program implementation, thereby enhancing motivation, job satisfaction, commitment, interest, solidarity, and cooperation. Meanwhile, the motivational style focuses on providing positive encouragement, words of motivation, and recognition of members' contributions, leading to increased self-confidence, strengthening bonds, and creating a supportive environment. The combination of these two leadership styles has a positive impact on the performance of management members and the overall organization, fostering a collaborative, productive, and supportive work environment conducive to achieving common goals.
